Dr. Sharifan is an assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, College Station, and conducted two years of postdoctoral research at the University of California Davis and Colorado State University. Before joining UTEP, he worked for two years as an assistant professor at Albany State University, Georgia. His research centered on the environmental fate and transport of emerging contaminants and remediation techniques.
